"THE MANISTEE" 23 DROWNED.
For several years the "Lake Superior and South Shore Line" passenger and freight steamer "Manistee" had been in the south shore trade on Lake Superior, from the head of the lakes and all intermediate points, to as far East as Marquette. She was commanded by Captain John McKay a well known lake man.
